This video was submitted for extra credit by Chaendo, it is an example of a rube goldberg machine, a machine that performs a very simple task in a very complex fashion, usually including a chain reaction.

A great video created by the website http://good.is and submitted by Malishka for extra-credit. It will explain to you how much potable water is available in the world (a teaspoon full) and demonstrate how much water is used in the western countries compared to the rest of the world. Don’t get fooled by the old style, this was made for world water day in 2008 so all the numbers are recent and accurate. Great find!

Did you know that:
- Domain names are being registered at a rate of more than one million names every month.
- One of every 8 married couples in the US last year met online.
- The first computer mouse was invented by Doug Engelbart in around 1964 and was made of wood.
These fun facts about computers were discovered by Robbert. There are many more where it comes from at FunFactz.com.

This 4th installment of the video “Did you know” was sent to me by Dimitri. A great way to visualize how interconnectivity between human beings has progressed throughout civilization and had been accelerating in the past few years.
You are this generation.
Watch until the end to see how small the future computers are expected to be!

Many of you spend time outside of class “working” with their computers. Don’t forget that if the work is worth displaying, I will be giving away exatr-credit for these.
Here is an exhibit of the most recent extra-curricular works from my students:
